Join READ PALESTINE WEEK 2025

Join us for this year’s READ PALESTINE WEEK, coming November 29-December 5.

Read Palestine Week is seven days when people around the world read – publicly and in community – as part of the global resistance to the genocide of the Palestinian people. To this end, publishers, librarians, & booksellers will share free reads, host events, and recommend books.

This year, we will have a particular focus on raising funds to support Palestinian writers in & evacuated from Gaza. In the coming weeks, we will share short features on writers we encourage you to support.

As in past years, we will also have free books and events.

Free reads:

To encourage the spread of #ReadPalestine, signatories of the Publishers for Palestine letter of solidarity have organized a Free Palestine Reading List. Participating publishers are offering one of their e-book titles for free download from November 29 to December 5; all titles will be available through our website, through December 5. Look for them starting November 29.

Publishers who want to submit a book can reach out to publishersforpalestine@gmail.com.

Events:

#ReadPalestineWeek events will kick off with a 24-hour Global Solidarity reading that begins and ends in Palestine, and events will follow throughout the week. If you have an event to add, please reach out.

Special publications:

Publishers for Palestine has previously brought out two zines: And Still We Write and Poems for Palestine. You can download the digital versions free. We will be sharing more zines during Read Palestine Week.

Read to disrupt:

Read in your workplace, at your school, in the mall, on the bus, or out on the street. Read with a group or as a demo. Disrupt business as usual. Record and share your reading on social media. Amplify Palestinian voices as we work to end the genocide, end the occupation, and free Palestine.

Also:

Readings are meant to augment and educate, and not to replace the necessary pressure that people of the world are placing on complicit governments! Keep up the pressure and participate in the BDS movement!
