Batool Abu Akleen is a 20-year-old Palestinian poet and translator, born and raised in Gaza City. Her collection 48kg came out this year from Tenement Press, and she also contributed to Comma Press’s Voices of Resistance and edited the anthology Sea Shells for Modern Poetry in Translation. Batool also was the force behind the 2025 Gaza Literary Translation Workshop Series, for which sixteen Gaza-based Palestinian translators were selected. Samar Al Gussien is a Palestinian writer from Gaza, a distinctive voice in contemporary poetry that reflects life under war and resistance, capturing the cries and resilience of Palestinian girlhood. Her work has been published in Modern Poetry in Translation and Al-Ayyam newspaper, and her texts have been translated into multiple languages. She is currently contributing to an upcoming poetry anthology in Italy and is working on publishing her independent book, which continues to explore themes of resistance, loss, and beauty in the face of trauma. Marah Muhammad Al-Khatib is a student in data science in Gaza who is one of the laureates of ArabLit’s Summer 2025 Gaza Literary Translation Series; her work has appeared in Spanish with Elvantodelsuimangr and Gaza Tarevista. Mahmoud Alshaer is an editor, curator, and poet who, until October 2023, was deeply involved in cultural work in Gaza, leading initiatives such as Majalla 28 and Gallery 28 and coordinating the cultural program at Al Ghussein Cultural House in Gaza’s old city. Taqwa Ahmed Al-Wawi is a Palestinian writer, poet, and editor from Gaza, and a 19-year-old English literature student at the Islamic University of Gaza. Wasim Said is the author of Witness to the Hellfire of Genocide: A Testimony from Gaza, published in October 2025 by 1804 Books in collaboration with Liberated Texts and the People’s Center for Palestine.Written from Gaza after multiple displacements from his home in Beit Hanoun, the book offers a firsthand account of the genocide through collective testimony.
